Clemson will look to pull off another upset in the ACC tournament as the team takes on Louisville on Thursday night.

The 14th-seeded Clemson Tigers will take on the sixth-seeded Louisville Cardinals on Thursday night in the second round of the ACC Tournament. The Tigers opened tournament play on Wednesday night against the 11th-seeded Stanford Cardinal, pulling off the upset with a 63-46 victory. Loyal McQueen led the Tigers’ offense with 17 points while Mia Moore and Anya Poole joined her in double figures with 14 and 12 points, respectively. McQueen also led on the boards along with Poole as they each pulled down eight rebounds. The team finished the game shooting 44 percent from the field and 47 percent from long range to end Stanford’s season.

The Cardinals received a first round bye in the tournament after finishing the season in sixth place with an overall record of 20-9 and a conference record of 13-5. The team took on No. 3 Notre Dame in the regular season finale, falling 72-59 on the road on Sunday. Strong defense from the Fighting Irish put a stop to the Cardinals’ offense, leaving only Jayda Curry to finish in double figures with 19 points. Nyla Harris led on the boards for Louisville, pulling down eight rebounds, but she was only able to contribute two points to the scoreboard. Notre Dame held Louisville to a shooting percentage of 30 from the field and 34 percent from beyond the arc and the Cardinals only went 7-for-12 from the line.

Clemson and Louisville should be fresh in each other’s minds as they met in the penultimate regular season game less than two weeks ago. The Cards won handily against the Tigers in a 78-52 victory at home.
