Second-seeded Notre Dame is challenged by Duke in the semifinals of the ACC Tournament in women’s college basketball.

The second semifinal of the ACC Tournament features third-seeded Duke (24-7) looking to pull off the upset against second-seeded Notre Dame (26-4). Hannah Hidalgo led the Fighting Irish to both an early season win over the Blue Devils and in the quarterfinals after a bye into the quarterfinals. In the quarterfinals Hidalgo went for 25 points, overwhelming California down the stretch. This season Hidalgo has scored at least 25 points in 12 games leading the Fighting Irish to an 11-1 record between the regular season and ACC Tournament. The winner of this game will take on either top-seeded N.C. State or fifth-seeded North Carolina who play in the first semifinal of the ACC Tournament.

In the first game between the teams the Fighting Irish ran away with a 64-49 win after trailing by three points after the first period. Hidalgo went for 19 points in the win while Sonia Citron (15 points) and Maddy Westbeld (11 points) also scored in double-figures.

The Blue Devils were led by Taina Mair with 15 points while senior Reigan Richardson and freshman Toby Fournier were limited to a combined 12 points on 4-14 shooting.

Richardson and Fournier helped the Blue Devils lock down the Golden Bears in the quarterfinals to advance to the semifinals. This season the Blue Devils are 11-0 when they hold opponents to less than 50 points. They also held the Fighting Irish to a season-low 64 points the first time they met this season.
