Before Wofford (5-2) takes on its second-ranked opponent of the season in eighth-ranked Duke it has to go through Appalachian State (3-4). This non-conference mid-major showdown will be a test for the Terriers to keep focused on the team right in front of them before a huge upset opportunity. Heading into this game the Terriers have won three games in a row and are playing some of the best basketball of the early season as a team. In their last three games the Terriers are averaging 80.3 points per game winning all three by a combined 85 points. They look to put another performance like that together here against the Mountaineers.

That offensive attack is built around balance. The sophomore tandem of Maddie Heiss and Evangelia Paulk are leading the way for the Terriers this season. Heiss picked up where she left off as a freshman with 12.0 points per game while Paulk has made a jump up to 11.7 points per game.
The Terriers also have eight other players in the rotation scoring at least four points per game in Helen Matthews, Molly Masingale, Indiya Clarke, Libby Privett, Mia Flor, Queen Ikhiuwu, Madi Hawk and Rachael Rose.
For the Mountaineers, they head into this trading wins and losses since the season-opener without winning or losing more than one game in a row. They are coming off a 54 point loss in their last game and look to bounce back with a win as they have three other times this season.
