No. 11 Kentucky (16-2) took its first Southeastern Conference loss of the season on Thursday and looks to bounce back on Sunday when it hosts Arkansas (8-13) at Historic Memorial Coliseum in Lexington. The Wildcats are 10-0 at home this season and 5-1 in the SEC while the Razorbacks are just 1-5 in conference play and have lost three games in a row. Kentucky and Arkansas each made their last NCAA tournament appearances in 2022, with the Razorbacks playing in last spring’s Women’s Basketball Invitation Tournament.

The Wildcats never got their offense going in a 61-55 loss at Texas A&M on Thursday, shooting just 31.3% and hitting only 1-of-18 from 3-point range. Teonni Key scored 20 points and Georgia Amoore added 15 in the loss, in which they couldn’t hold a 10-point second-half lead. Amoore averages 18.3 points and 7.3 assists, with Clara Strack putting up 15.3 points and 9.6 rebounds per game.

Arkansas took a 101-60 thrashing at Vanderbilt on Thursday night and its 8-13 record its its worst through 21 games in program history. Carly Keats scored 16 points and Karley Johnson added 14. Izzy Higginbottom scores 22.8 points per game, with Kiki Smith posting 10.8 points a night and Vera Ojenuwa averaging 7.6 points and 7.3 boards.

Kentucky leads the all-time series 27-16 and the teams split homecourt victories last season. Kenny Brooks is in his first season coaching the Wildcats after eight years and four NCAA tournament bids at Virginia Tech. Mike Neighbors has a 146-104 mark in his eighth year with the Razorbacks.
