The Big South Tournament Championship Game is down to the top two seeds in the tournament. One of these teams will punch their ticket to the NCAA Tournament as conference champions. Top-seeded High Point (19-11) is playing its best basketball of the season winning eight straight games to close the regular season and into the conference tournament. Now the Panthers are just one win away from their second ever Big South Tournament championship. For second-seeded Longwood (21-10) the program is also looking for its second Big South Tournament title and second in four years. Both programs are looking to become just the fifth team to win multiple conference championships.

This season the teams split their two regular season making this not only a ticket to the NCAA Tournament, but also the rubber match. The Lancers won the first game 72-68 after building a 10-point lead heading into the final period. Sophomore Frances Ulysse came off the bench to lead four players in double-figures with 13 points in the win.

Then in the most recent game the Panthers led from the start learning from the first game against the Lancers. Senior Lauren Scott came off the bench for 23 points and three steals to lead the Panthers. She was redhot all game going 8-13 from the field and 5-7 from three.

The Panthers will look to ride the momentum from eight straight wins, including a win over their opponents today, and a dominant win in the semifinals over Winthrop (64-49) to win the Big South Tournament.
