Last weekend, the team took on No. 22 NC State, falling in a tough 91-52 defeat on the road. T’yana Todd came off the bench to score 20 points as the only Eagle in double figures. Teya Sidberry pulled down a team-high nine rebounds, but it wasn’t enough to hold onto possession and keep the Wolfpack close.

The Tar Heels are currently 2-2 in conference play and 14-3 overall for a spot in ninth place in the ACC standings. On Thursday night, the team hosted No. 14 Duke and pulled off a big 53-46 overtime win against its longstanding in-state rival. While the Blue Devils did shut down the Tar Heels’ leading scorer, Alyssa Ustby, she still led the team in scoring with 10 points and earned herself a double-double by leading on the boards with 12 rebounds, 11 of which were defensive. The all-out battle saw North Carolina shoot just 32 percent from the field and 25 percent from long-range. The team also struggled from the line, going 17-for-25.

Boston College and UNC have met a total of 19 times in their history and the Tar Heels hold a 16-5 advantage in the series. The teams only met once last season and the game went in the favor of UNC with a close 78-74 victory at home.
