The Gamecocks have won the last 14 meetings with the Tigers, including a 77-45 victory at Clemson on Nov. 20. South Carolina played in its fifth straight Final Four last season, losing to UConn in the championship game, while the Tigers were 14-17 and lost in overtime to Louisville in the second round of the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament.

The Gamecocks opened up a 20-point lead in the first quarter and never looked back on Friday night, pummeling visiting Bowling Green 114-47. Sophomore Joyce Edwards hit 11-of-12 shots to finish with 24 points, with Florida State transfer Ta’Niya Latson adding 17 and junior Tessa Johnson scoring 14. Mississippi State transfer Madina Okot went for 13 points and 11 rebounds while senior Raven Johnson finished with 11 points and 11 assists.

Clemson shot 54.0% overall and his 10-of-21 from 3-point range in a 72-51 victory at Mercer on Thursday night. Senior Mia Moore finished with 20 points and 11 rebounds, with Wofford transfer Rachael Rose scoring 16 points, junior Hannah Kohn adding 13 and and Tulsa transfer Hadley Periman grabbing 10 rebounds.

South Carolina’s 14-game winning streak in the series has flipped the advantage to the Gamecocks 36-33. Clemson’s last win against its rival was a 94-92 double-overtime triumph at home on Nov. 19, 2009.
