Denver is trying to end a four-game losing streak when it takes on Kansas City in this Summit League battle in women’s college basketball on Wednesday.

Denver looks for its first conference win of the season when it travels to Kansas City on Wednesday night in women’s college basketball. It won’t help the Pioneers’ cause that they haven’t won on the road this season with a 0-6 record away from home. They are also trying to avoid a five-game losing streak, but Kansas City is also struggling. Denver has a better record than the Roos and Kansas City is trying to avoid losing three in a row. The home team is coming off a lopsided 78-61 loss on the road to South Dakota State on Saturday.

The Roos got outscored by 12 and as much as 15 in the first quarter alone, but Kansas City got it back down to a four-point deficit. But the Jackrabbits came out firing once again in the third, outscoring the Roos by another 13 and they didn’t look back. Alayana Contreras led all scorers with 24 points and it was her fourth 20-point game of the season. This should be a good opportunity to bounce back getting back home tonight for the Roos.

Denver is coming off a 69-61 loss against North Dakota on the road on Saturday. Jordan Jones had the best game of her career with 30 points and she added seven rebounds. Angelina Robles backed her up with a season-high 18 points. Three players accounted for 87 percent of Denver’s points. They’ll need more avenues of scoring to break out of this rut. This game against Kansas City will be the final road game before the Pioneers get back home for a two-game stand.
