Kelsey Ransom and Georgetown will take on Morgan Maly and No. 23 Creighton in the quarterfinals of the Big East Tournament on Saturday.

No. 10-seeded Georgetown will take on No. 2-seeded Creighton, the No. 23 ranked women’s college basketball team in the country, at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, for the third quarterfinal matchup of the day in the Big East Conference Tournament. The Creighton Blue Jays are 24-5 overall this season and finished with a conference record of 16-2. They were two games behind the conference-leading No. 3-ranked UConn and three games ahead of the No. 3-seeded Seton Hall in this tournament.

They ended out their season with a win over Villanova in the finalé, 70-55. Morgan Maly led the way with 23 points in the win, shooting 8-for-14 from the field, while Molly Mogensen pulled down a team-high 11 rebounds. Lauren Jensen leads the team in scoring this season, averaging 17.8 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game, shooting 45% from the floor.

The Georgetown Hoyas finished under the .500 mark and will be in for an uphill battle in this quarterfinal matchup. They are 12-18 overall this season with a 4-14 record against teams in the conference. They are the No. 10 seed of 11 total seeds, just three games ahead of the one-win Xavier in the Big East.

They closed out their regular season with a four-point loss to Providence, but they didn’t let that get them down as they used the loss as momentum to turn around and beat No. 7-seeded Providence in the first round of the tournament by two points on Friday. Kelsey Ransom dropped a massive 36 points to lead the team in a game-high performance.
