Idaho State and Weber State will meet in the quarterfinal round of the Big Sky Tournament on Monday afternoon.

The fifth-seeded Idaho State Bengals will take on the fourth-seeded Weber State Wildcats on Monday afternoon as they begin play in the Big Sky Tournament. The Bengals finished regular season play with an overall record of 13-16 and a conference record of 8-10. The team took on Northern Arizona in the regular season finale last week, losing 83-71 on the road. Sophia Covello led the offense with 19 points while Piper Carlson finished right behind her with 17 points. Kacey Spink pulled down 10 rebounds to lead on the boards, adding seven points to the scoreboard, as well. The team finished the game shooting 40 percent from the field and an impressive 64 percent from long range, numbers that will help the team in tournament play.

The Wildcats are just below .500 overall on the season at 13-15 and finished up Big Sky play with a record of 10-8. The team’s regular season finale was played against Northern Colorado and resulted in a narrow 68-67 overtime win on the road. The highly competitive game saw 13 lead changes and five score ties before the Wildcats were able to go on an 8-0 run to win by one. Rose Bubakar led the team offensively with a 13-point performance while Taylor Smith finished right behind her with 12 points. Lanae Billy rounded out the double digit scorers with 11 points.

Weber State and Idaho State met twice this season and the games both went into overtime, but the Wildcats were able to pull out the wins with a 72-67 win in the first and a 79-76 win in the second.
