Illinois faces off against Creighton on Saturday evening in the first round of the Women’s NCAA Tournament

The Illinois Fighting Illini look to shake off a four-game losing streak when they play the Creighton Bluejays on Saturday night. The Fighting Illini were riding high as they were on an eight-game winning streak, but they struggled in their last four games as they lost to UCLA, USC, Michigan and Nebraska. They had lost just five of their first 26 games, but almost doubled that total in the last five. The Fighting Illini have been extremely balanced on offense as they have five players averaging in double figures this season. Kendall Bostic leads the way averaging a double-double at 15.9 points and 11.1 rebounds per game. Genesis Bryant and Adalia McKenzie are next in scoring at 13.5 and 11.9 points per game respectively.

The Bluejays will need to find a way to slow down the Fighting Illini offense attack if they want to advance to the second round.

The Bluejays come into Saturday 26-6 on the season and looking to bounce back from a 20-point loss to UConn in the Big East Tournament championship.

That loss snapped a three-game winning streak and they have lost 17 of their last 20 games.

The Bluejays have just two players averaging in double figures this season. Lauren Jessen leads the way at 17.8 points per game, while Morgan May is right behind her at 17.3 points per game.
