The Hurricanes have done better than the Orange overall this season at 11-4, but are not too far ahead in the ACC standings at 13th with a conference record of 1-3. The team won its ACC opener against Pitt before the holidays, but dropped its last three ACC matchups with the last one being a tough 68-64 loss to Virginia Tech last weekend. Cameron Williams led the ‘Canes in scoring with 15 points while Jasmyne Roberts and Haley Cavinder also finished in double figures with 13 and 12 points, respectively. Williams also led on the boards with 10 rebounds to earn a double-double. While the team shot well from the field at 44 percent, it struggled from long range, sinking just five shots on 17 attempts. The game was tight throughout its entirety with five score ties and seven lead changes, but the Hokies were able to hold off the Hurricanes at the end.

Syracuse and Miami have met a total of 34 times in their history and the Hurricanes hold a 20-14 advantage in the all-time series. When the teams met last season, Syracuse traveled to Florida for the game and picked up a 71-60 road win.
