Top-ranked UCLA goes for a 13th straight win in women’s college basketball against Michigan on Wednesday.

After missing one game, junior Lauren Betts came back as strong as ever in another win for undefeated and top-ranked UCLA (13-0). She scored 21 points in 28 minutes of action as the Bruins cruised to their 11th win by 15 points or more this season. Up next is a very good Michigan team (10-3) that is ranked 24th in the country. The Wolverines are coming off a loss to fourth-ranked USC and now have the daunting task of playing the top-ranked team in country next. This young Wolverines squad has played great against unranked teams, winning all 10 games by an average of 35.0 points per game. Against ranked opponents this season it has been a different story.

All three games for the Wolverines this season against ranked opponents have ended in losses. They tested then top-ranked South Carolina (68-62) to open the season. Then they played well against 10th ranked Oklahoma (72-62) before being boat raced by the fourth-ranked Trojans (78-58).

This game is an opportunity for the Wolverines not only for a win against a ranked opponent in their fourth attempt, but another crack at topping a top-ranked team. They came close the first time against the Gamecocks, but this Bruins team is another animal all together.

The Bruins head into this game ranked No. 1 in the country for several reasons. They are 18th in the country in scoring and fifth in points allowed per game. Betts is a double-double machine, averaging 19.9 points and 9.8 rebounds per game. The Bruins are as talented as any team in the country and seasoned after two straight seasons losing in the Sweet 16.
