Mississippi State will look to pull off the upset against top-seeded USC on Monday in the NCAA Women’s College Basketball Tournament.
The NCAA Women’s College Tournament continues on Monday afternoon as the ninth-seeded Mississippi State Bulldogs take on the top-seeded USC Trojans at the Galen Center in Los Angeles. The Bulldogs opened tournament play with a 59-46 win over eighth-seeded Cal to improve to 22-11 on the season. Madina Okot and Eniya Russell led the Bulldogs offense with 14 points each, while Jerkaila Jordan added 10 points to the scoreboard. Okot also led on the boards with a team-high 13 rebounds for a double-double in the win. The Bulldogs finished the game shooting 34 percent from the field and just 18 percent from long range. While those numbers were enough to get past the Golden Bears, it likely won’t be enough to get past the top-seeded Trojans.
