The Charleston Golden Eagles will take on the Fairmont State Fighting Falcons on Thursday as the teams look to continue Mountain East Tournament play with the hopes of earning an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. The Golden Eagles opened its quest to a tournament title on Wednesday with a game against West Liberty, winning handily in a 66-43 victory. Kiley Graham paced four to double digit finishes with her 18-point performance and also pulled down 10 rebounds to earn a double-double. Two more Golden Eagles achieved double-doubles, as well, with Paris Stokes scoring 11 points and pulling down 10 rebounds and Harper Annarino leading on the boards with 13 rebounds and 12 points.

The Fighting Falcons earned a first round bye in the conference tournament after finishing at the top of the Mountain East standings. The team went 24-4 overall and 17-3 in conference play to earn a regular season title and will look to tack on a tournament title also.

The Falcons concluded regular season play against Frostburg State on Saturday, earning a 92-82 overtime victory on the road. Leslie Huffman dominated offensively for Fairmont State, scoring a team-high 27 points and pulling down eight rebounds, all of which were defensive. The highly competitive season finale saw the score tied nine different times and the lead change a total of 14 before the Falcons pulled away in overtime to win it.

Fairmont State and Charleston met twice this season and the Falcons picked up wins in both games, winning 72-59 in the first and 76-65 in the second. Tune in to see if the Golden Eagles can pull off the upset and continue in tournament play.
