Summit League play continues on Saturday for the University of St. Thomas as the team hosts North Dakota State.

The North Dakota State Bison will travel to Minnesota on Saturday for a Summit League game against the St. Thomas Tommies at Schoenecker Arena. The Tommies are in search of their first conference win as they come into Saturday’s game with an overall record of 8-6 and a conference record of 0-1 after dropping their last game to Kansas City in a 76-69 defeat. Amber Scalia led the Tommies in scoring with 23 points while Jade Hill and JO Langbehn joined her in double figures with 15 and 10 points, respectively. Langbehn led on the boards with six rebounds to hold onto possession, but the team still came up short.

The Bison will play their first conference game of the season on Saturday, but bring an overall record of 8-5 into Summit League play as well as a two-game win streak. The team’s most recent game was played against Dakota Wesleyan and resulted in a 64-55 win for the Bison. Four players finished in double figures for North Dakota State with Abby Krzewinski leading the scoring with 13 points. Avery Koenen led the team on the boards with eight rebounds and added 12 points to the scoreboard. The Bison shot 40 percent from the field and 37 percent from long range, but turned in a 16-for-17 performance from the foul line.

North Dakota State and St. Thomas have met six times in their history and the Bison hold a 5-1 advantage in the all-time series. The teams’ most recent game was play last season and the Bison won handily in a 96-53 win on the road.
