Northeastern will look to earn its first win on Tuesday night on the road against Harvard in women’s basketball non-conference play.

On Tuesday night, Northeastern will travel to Cambridge to take on Harvard in a women’s non-conference game. The Huskies are in search of their first win of the season as they enter Tuesday’s contest with a record of 0-3 so far. The team’s last time on the court resulted in a tough 58-31 loss to New Hampshire on Thursday.

Against the Wildcats, Northeastern struggled, shooting 25.6 percent from the field and 23.5 percent from beyond the arc. The team only went 7-for-16 at the line for a percentage of 43.8. Abby Jegede led the Huskies with 12 points, while Yirsy Quéliz finished right behind her with 11. As the only two players in double figures, it clearly was not enough to compete with the Wildcats. Northeastern also had trouble on the boards, only pulling down a total of 25 rebounds in comparison to New Hampshire’s 42. Taylor Holohan and Quéliz led in that category with four rebounds apiece. There are many areas that the Huskies need to improve upon and head coach Priscilla Edwards-Lloyd hopes to put those into place on Tuesday.

The Crimson comes into Tuesday night’s game on a two-game win streak after winning handily against Maine on Sunday in an 83-41 victory on the road. The team is now 4-1 on the season and has one ranked win under their belts with a narrow 72-68 win over No. 25 Indiana.

Harvard got off to a quick start against Maine and never looked back. The team went on a 21-0 run in the first quarter and continued with that pace until halftime. Harmoni Turner has been on a hot streak for the Crimson, scoring 41 points against Boston College to break the single game scoring record and had a near repeat performance against Maine with a game-high 38 points. Even if Turner had been on the bench, the Crimson still would have beaten the Black Bears. Although no other players finished in double figures for Harvard, it was an overall team effort as the Crimson finished shooting 52.7 percent from the field and 46.7 percent from beyond the arc. They also shot 90 percent from the free throw line.

The last time Harvard and Northeastern met was during the 2022-23 season and Northeastern walked away with a 73-64 win. The Crimson have the edge in the series record at 8-7.
