Reagan Beers and No. 10 Oklahoma will take on Georgia Amoore and No. 12 Kentucky in the quarterfinals of the SEC women’s championship on Friday.

Oklahoma, the No. 10 ranked women’s college basketball team in the country, will take the court at the Con Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, South Carolina, on Friday in the quarterfinals of the Southeastern Conference tournament against the No. 12 ranked team in the nation, Kentucky. Oklahoma finished the regular season with one win more than Kentucky, edging out the Wildcats with a 23-6 record compared to the 22-6 record. However, in the conference, both teams finished with an 11-5 record, with UK edging out OU in the tiebreaker for the No. 4 seed.

That proved to be beneficial for the royal blue as Kentucky didn’t have to play in the second round and received byes until now, the quarterfinals. However, on the other side of the tiebreaks, Oklahoma finished with the No. 5 seed in the tournament and took on Georgia in the first round yesterday.

After beating the No. 20-ranked team in the country, Alabama, in their regular season clinching game, Oklahoma took on Georgia and beat them by 18 points, led by a 22-point performance from Raegan Beers on 9-of-14 shooting. Beers also led the team with eight rebounds. Payton Verhulst had just two points, but led Oklahoma with seven assists and chipped in five rebounds in the win.

Kentucky is led this season by a pair of talented guards in Georgia Amoore and Dazia Lawrence. Amoore is averaging a team high in scoring and assists with 18.8 points and 6.9 assists per game. Lawrence is averaging 12.8 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game.
