Big 10 play continues on Monday night for Purdue and Illinois when the teams meet in women’s college basketball action.

The Purdue Boilermakers will hit the road on Monday to take on the Illinois Fighting Illini at the State Farm Center. The Boilermakers are still in search of their first conference win of the season as the team currently sits in last place with a Big Ten record of 0-8 and an overall record of 7-12. The team has dropped seven games in a row with the most recent being a big 79-39 loss to Big Ten newcomer USC. Kendall Puryear was the only player to finish in double digits for the Boilermakers with 10 points on the day as the Trojans completely shut down their offense. The team finished the game shooting 30 percent from the field and just 13 percent from beyond the arc while also missing six free throws in the loss.

The Fighting Illini are sitting in 10th place in the Big Ten standings with a conference record of 4-4 and an overall record of 14-5. The team’s most recent game was played against Northwestern on Thursday night and the Illini were able to pick up and 85-60 victory in the Illinois rivalry game. Kendall Bostic scored 20 points to lead the Illinois offense while four other Illini joined her in double figures. Bostic also pulled down 11 rebounds to lead on the boards along with Cori Allen, earning a double-double in the win.

Purdue and Illinois have met a total of 46 times in their history and the Boilermakers hold a commanding 41-5 lead in the series. The Boilermakers have won five games in a row with the last meeting taking place last season, resulting in a 77-72 win at home.
