Rice and South Florida will meet on Wednesday night in the AAC Championship game as the teams look for an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.

The ninth-seeded Rice Owls will head back to the championship game on Wednesday night to defend their title against the third-seeded South Florida Bulls. The Owls earned a spot in the title game after beating fourth-seeded Temple on Tuesday night in a 67-49 victory to snap a seven-game win streak. Malia Fisher led the Rice offense with 18 points and added nine rebounds to the stat sheet to narrowly miss a double-double in the win. Aniah Alexis was also in double figures with 14 points and Sussy Ngulefac finished the game with eight points to record her 1,000th career points. The team finished the game shooting 40 percent from the field and 27 percent from long range, marks that will need to be improved upon to become back-to-back AAC Tournament Champions.
