Seton Hall and Villanova look to remain unbeaten in Big East play when they meet on Wednesday in women’s college basketball.

Seton Hall (10-3) is off to a 2-0 start in Big East Conference play and visits Villanova (7-6) at Finneran Pavilion in suburban Philadelphia on Wednesday night. The Wildcats won their conference opener on Dec. 21 and return to play for the first time since that victory. The Pirates last played in the NCAA tournament in 2016 while Villanova missed the tournament last season after a Sweet Sixteen run in 2023. Seton Hall finished 17-15 last season after a loss in the first round of the WBIT, while Villanova lost in the championship game of the same tournament to close the campaign.

The Pirates handled business on Sunday in a 69-49 Big East win at Butler. Jada Eads scored 26 points to go with four steals and Faith Masonius added 10 points. Masonius nets 17.4 points per game, while Eads scores 13.5 points a night and I’yanna Lops averages 9.3 points and 5.2 rebounds.

The Wildcats rode a big first quarter to a 71-57 win over visiting St. John’s in their Big East opener on Dec. 21. Jasmine Bascoe finished with 24 points, while Maddie Burke, Maddie Webber and Senae Carter each scored 12 points. Bascoe leads the team at 15.5 points per game, with Webber getting 13.1 points an outing and Carter averaging 9.2 points and 6.4 boards.

Villanova is 51-25 in the all-time series and has won the last five meetings, including a 50-45 win at home on Jan. 3 and a 69-41 rout at Seton Hall on Feb. 3.
