DePaul hosts SIUE on Sunday afternoon in women’s non-conference basketball action in Chicago. Watch for free on Fubo.

On Sunday afternoon, DePaul will welcome SIUE to Wintrust Arena for a non-conference matchup as the teams begin to prepare for conference play. The Cougars have struggled so far this season and bring a record of 1-4 into Sunday’s contest. The team’s most recent game resulted in an 81-71 loss to Central Florida on the road. Against the Knights, Macy Silvey paced four Cougars to double-digit finishes, leading the offense with 15 points. Ava Stoller scored 14 points while Ava Gugliuzza and Molly Sheehan added 12 and 11 points, respectively, to the scoreboard. While the team played well offensively, the Cougars could not find a way to stop Kaitlin Peterson and Hannah Gusters who combined for 55 points. SIUE will need to find a way to improve both offensively and defensively if it wants to compete in the Ohio Valley Conference this season.

The Blue Demons will also be looking to get back on track as the team brings a four-game losing streak into Sunday’s home game. Early last week, DePaul traveled to Las Vegas to play No. 8 Oklahoma and No. 9 Kansas State in the Ball Dawgs Classic, losing both games to move to 2-5 on the season. Against the Wildcats in the closing game of the tournament, the Blue Demons fell in a lopsided 92-66 defeat. Jorie Allen and Taylor Johnson-Matthews led DePaul offensively with 17 points apiece, but as the only Blue Demons in double figures, they could not keep the Wildcats close.

SIUE and DePaul have met twice before and the Blue Demons have been victorious both times. The most recent game was played in 2011 and resulted in a 75-65 win for DePaul at home.
