The matchup will take place at Purcell Pavilion. The Longhorns head into this game with a perfect record of 7-0. They won that tournament, beating New Mexico State by 40, following it up with a 35-point win over Butler, with little resistance put up. However, their last game, earlier this week, proved that they can be tested and win. They took on No. 12 ranked West Virginia and won by five points, 78-73. Aaliyah Moore led the team in the win with 20 points, while Madison Booker had 19 points and eight rebounds.

The Irish are the No. 10 ranked team in the nation and the ACC side of this contest. They have two losses heading into this game with five wins. Their two losses in the first month of the season came against former No. 17 TCU and unranked Utah, both in the Cayman Islands Classic at the end of the month.

They do have a quad-one win, beating former No. 3 USC by 13 points right before the tournament they lost. All-American Hannah Hildago led the team with 24 points and eight assists. Before that, they beat Mercyhurst, Purdue, James Madison, and Lafayette.
