UCLA and Purdue will meet for the first time since the Bruins joined the Big Ten on Tuesday night in women’s basketball action.

The top-ranked UCLA Bruins will travel to Indiana on Tuesday for a Big Ten matchup against the Purdue Boilermakers at Mackey Arena. Purdue comes into Tuesday night’s game with an overall record of 7-7, but has yet to earn a win in Big Ten play and currently sits at 0-3. The team’s last time on the court took place in East Lansing last week and resulted in a 77-59 loss to No. 21 Michigan State. The Boilermakers fell behind early after the Spartans put up 30 points in the first quarter and they were forced to play chase for the remainder of the game. Lana McCarty and Destini Lombard each scored 10 points to lead the offense, but it wasn’t enough to keep Michigan State within reach. Reagan Bass and Kendall Puryear each pulled down six rebounds to lead on the boards.

The No. 1 Bruins remain perfect this season at 15-0 overall and are atop the Big Ten standings with a record of 4-0 in conference play. The team’s latest game was played against Indiana and resulted in a 73-62 win on the road. Lauren Betts led the Bruins with 25 points and 12 rebounds for her ninth double-double of the season. Kiki Rice and Gabriela Jaquez each scored in double figures, adding 12 and 11 points, respectively. The Bruins outscored the Hoosiers 40 to 28 in the paint but did not have their best shooting performance at 45 percent from the field and 27 percent from beyond the arc. On the season, Betts is averaging 19.8 points per game and 10.0 rebounds per game, both team bests.
