Virginia Tech and Duke will square off Sunday afternoon as they open ACC play in North Carolina. Watch the game live on Fubo.

On Sunday afternoon, No. 8 Duke will host Virginia Tech at Cameron Indoor Stadium in Durham in the teams’ ACC opener. The Hokies come into conference play with a record of 7-2 so far and will look to extend their win streak to two games with an upset over the Blue Devils. The team’s most recent game was played against Georgia on Wednesday in the ACC/SEC Challenge and resulted in a 70-61 victory for the Hokies. In the win, three Hokies topped the stat sheet with 14 points each as Matilda Ekh, Lani White and Carys Baker led Virginia Tech to a win. Rose Micheaux was also in double digits with 13 points and led on the boards with nine rebounds to narrowly miss a double-double. The team could certainly use some work in the shooting department ahead of the bulk of conference play as it only posted a 44 percent completion rate from the field and 36 percent from beyond the arc.

The Blue Devils bring an 8-2 record into conference play but will need to bounce back from a loss its last time out. Duke was paired with No. 3 South Carolina in this year’s ACC/SEC Challenge and suffered an 81-70 loss to the defending national champions. While the Blue Devils outscored the Gamecocks by nine in the fourth quarter, the 14 point deficit from the first quarter was simply too much to overcome. Taina Mair and Delaney Thomas each scored 14 points to lead the Blue Devils and Oluchi Okananwa added 12 points to the scoreboard as the only other player in double figures for Duke. Jadyn Donovan led on the boards with eight rebounds, but she wasn’t a match for South Carolina’s Chloe Kitts under the basket.

When last year’s then-No. Hokies played Duke, Virginia Tech won at home in a 61-56 victory on their way to an ACC title.
