Two No. 11 seeds will battle it out as both look for a spot in the first round of the women’s NCAA Tournament in Regional 2 based in Birmingham, Alabama. They will play on Thursday night at Carmichael Arena in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The No. 11-seeded Huskies finished their season with a 19-13 overall record. Heading into the Big Ten Tournament, they opened it up in the first round with a win over Minnesota before bowing out in the second round, losing to Michigan by eight points. They survived, however, as one of the committee’s last four teams in.

The backcourt duo of Elle Ladine and Sayvia Sellers have led Washington this far, and the team will trust in them to get the job done tonight. Ladine leads the team, averaging 17.1 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game. Sellers is averaging 15.2 points, 2.7 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 1.8 steals per game.

On the other side, the Lions ended their season with a 23-6 overall record and ended their year with a loss in the Ivy League Tournament final to Harvard by three points. They had beaten UPenn prior to that by six points. The Ivy League sent three teams to the NCAA Tournament led by Columbia’s 13-1 record in the group.

She is followed by Cecelia Collins, who is totaling 13.7 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game. It will truly be a test of guard play in this game.
