Yvonne Ejim and No. 4-seed Gonzaga will take the court against Madison Booker and No. 1-seed Texas tonight.
The No. 4-seed in Regional 4 in Portland, Gonzaga, will take on the No. 1 seed in the same region, Texas, at the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon, tonight. The Bulldogs have only lost three games this season which includes a regular season West Coast Conference championship; however, they lost the tournament final by one point to Portland for the team’s third loss. They opened up the NCAA Tournament with a matchup against the No. 13-seed UC Irvine by almost 20 points, 75-56. Yvonne Ejim led the team with 25 points on 12-of-23 shooting from the field. She also had a team-high 14 rebounds in the win. Heading into the second round last week, they took on the No. 5-seeded Utah and won by 11 points, 77-66. Kayleigh Truong led the team with 21 points on 5-of-9 shooting and seven rebounds. Kaylynne Truong had 14 points with a team-high five assists while Ejim had 17 points and 13 rebounds in the team’s only double-double. All three ladies will need to step up if Gonzaga wants to take out a No. 1 seed here tonight.

The Longhorns finished the season with four losses including a Big 12 Tournament championship after losing the regular season title. Earning a No. 1 seed, they took on No. 16-Drexel in the first round and won by 40 points 82-42 with 21 points from Shaylee Gonzales on 8-of-11 shooting. Madison Booker had eight points with five rebounds and 14 assists as well.
In the second round, Texas matched up with No. 8-seed Alabama and won by 11 points 65-54 to advance to the Sweet Sixteen. Aaliyah Moore led the team in that win with 21 points on 7-of-13 shooting with 10 rebounds. Booker also had 21 points with six rebounds.
