The Stanford Cardinal head into the NCAA Women’s Team Match Play Quarterfinals looking for back-to-back championships.

Heading into the quarterfinals of the NCAA Women’s Team Match Play Tournament top-ranked Stanford is running away with the title. The reigning champions are -27 overall through the first four rounds. That has allowed the Cardinal to build a 21-stroke lead over the rest of the field. Kelly Xu is leading the Cardinal at eight under par along with Paula Martin Sampedro at seven under par. Megha Ganne and Meja Ortengren helped rack up the score for the Cardinal at four under par each. Those performances have the Cardinal two days and three rounds from winning the programs fourth championship and second in a row.

Fifth-ranked Oregon is the only other team under par through the first four rounds of the tournament. The Ducks are six under par after back-to-back solid rounds of three under par and four under par respectively.

The other six teams to advance to the quarterfinals this year are 11th ranked Northwestern, fourth-ranked Florida State, ninth-ranked USC, second-ranked Arkansas, sixth ranked Texas and 10thn ranked Virginia who are all at least two strokes over par and 29 strokes behind the Cardinal.

In the individual tournament the Razorbacks Maria Jose Marin, the sixth-ranked player in the country, leads the field by two strokes at -12 under par. Mirabel Ting is at -10 under par for the Seminoles. Marin is looking to join Stacy Lewis (2007) and Maria Fassi (2019) as Razorbacks individual champions in women’s college golf.
