A top 20 matchup will take place on Friday night as Arkansas takes on top-ranked Oklahoma in women’s gymnastics action.

The No. 1 Oklahoma Sooners will host the No. 13 Arkansas Razorbacks on Friday night at the Lloyd Noble Center as the teams meet in an SEC dual meet. The Razorbacks are currently in seventh place in the SEC standings with a conference record of 1-1 and an overall record of 3-4. The team’s most recent meet took place one week ago against the defending national champion No. 2 LSU Tigers and resulted in a huge 196.875-196.600 win at home. The upset was the biggest of the new Wieber era at Arkansas as the olympian took over the helm in 2019. Frankie Price was the only Gymback to earn an event title, scoring a 9.950 on floor, but the team scores on the events were enough to edge out the Tigers. Joscelyn Roberson took the top spot in all-around, scoring a 39.350 to edge out LSU’s Aleah Finnegan.

The Sooners not only hold the top spot in the SEC standings at 2-0, but also hold the top spot in the nation with an overall record of 8-0 so far. Last week, the team traveled to Tuscaloosa to take on Alabama, winning 197.550-196.300 to stay perfect on the season. Jordan Bowers claimed a trio of event titles, winning the all-around with a 39.625 along with bars and floor with matching 9.95s. Faith Torrez was narrowly behind Bowers with a 39.600 in the all-around and took home the vault, beam and floor titles with 9.95s on each event. The team continues to dominate this season and shows no signs of slowing down any time soon.

Arkansas and Oklahoma met twice last season and the Sooners were victorious both times, posting a score of 198.300-196.800 in the first meet and 198.350-197.275 in the second meet.
