The Big 12 Championships in women’s college gymnastics features seven programs led by fourth-ranked Utah. The Utes lead the conference in National Qualifying score, which determines the seeding in conference tournaments. They are joined by three teams ranked in the top 25 this season in the Road to Nationals rankings with 18th-ranked Denver, 21st-ranked Arizona and 24th-ranked Arizona State. Also in the field are 33rd-ranked BYU, 34th-ranked West Virginia and 37th-ranked Iowa State. These seven programs will all look to finish the season as Big 12 Champions in women’s college gymnastics at the Maverik Center in West Valley City, Utah.

In the first session the Cougars, Mountaineers and Cyclones will compete in a tri-meet. Then in the second session the top four teams in the Utes, Pioneers, Wildcats and Sun Devils will compete in a quad meet.

Makeena Smith and Grace McCallum lead the Utes as the top players in multiple disciplines in gymnastics. Smith ended this year as the top competitor in the Big 12 in vault and floor while McCallum earned top honors in uneven bars, balance beam and the all-around competition.

This season the Utes finished the season with three players ranked in the top six in vault, uneven bars, balance beam and floor. Only Smith and McCallum were ranked in the top six in all-around. Only the Sun Devils had multiple gymnasts that finished in the top six with Emily White and Kimberly Smith finishing in fourth and sixth place respectively in all-around.
