Sixth-ranked Kentucky takes on the Missouri Tigers in women’s college gymnastics action on Sunday.

This season sixth-ranked Kentucky (3-1) has started off the season in women’s college gymnastics on a high note. The Wildcats have gone through an NCAA Tournament caliber stretch through four competitions, winning two top 16 battles in the Sprouts Farmers Market Collegiate Quad against 16th ranked Ohio State and eighth-ranked Arkansas. That momentum was carried into a win over third-ranked Alabama, showing that the Wildcats are contenders to win it all this year. Up next is a road showcase on Sunday against 11th ranked Missouri (5-2), who has been impressive to start the season. The Tigers took care of business in the Beauty and the Beast tournament to kick-off the season and followed that up with two wins in the Denver Quad Meet.

The only two losses this season for the Tigers have come to teams ranked 11th or better in the country. Those two losses came to 11th ranked Denver (196.575-to-196.125) and top-ranked Oklahoma (197.775-to-196.750). While they lost those two meets, the experience against high quality competition could sharpen the Tigers for this matchup.

Isabella Magnelli continues to lead the Wildcats in her fifth season with the program. She has three wins already this season and 17 overall in her career. Heading into this matchup Magnelli is ranked third in the country on vault and fourth on beam.

For the Tigers, the talents of senior Helen Hu have been on display early and often. She scored a perfect 10 in her last outing leading the Tigers to their highest overall score of the season despite the loss. As a team the Tigers are ranked ninth on bars and 16th on the floor, which will give the Wildcats a run for their money in this dual meet.
