Women’s college gymnastics is underway and Friday night will see a top 25 matchup take place as No. 10 Missouri travels to take on No. 1 Oklahoma at the Lloyd Noble Center as the teams begin conference competition. The Tigers come into Friday night’s SEC opener with a record of 5-1 so far this season. The team earned a first place finish at the Beauty and Beast quad against Ball State, Illinois State and Southeast Missouri State two weeks ago with a score of 196.700. Last weekend, the team traveled to Colorado for the Denver Quad, suffering its first loss of the season against No. 11 Denver in a 196.575-196.125 defeat, but the Tigers did beat Georgia and Long Island in the competition. Mara Titarsolej earned the event title on bars with a 9.900 while Kennedy Griffin and Jocelyn Moore earned a share of the win on floor with 9.925s.

The Sooners bring a perfect 6-0 record into conference competition on Friday with the team’s most recent win taking place in Oklahoma City last weekend at the Sprouts Farmer’s Marker Collegiate Quad against Cal, LSU and Utah. The Sooners posted a 197.950, beating second place LSU (197.630), third place Utah (196.800) and fourth place Cal (197.275). Senior Jordan Bowers claimed the all-around title with a 39.675, but Aleah Finnegan and freshman Kailin Chio of LSU both finished closely behind with 39.625s. Audrey Davis claimed the bars title with a near-perfect 9.975 while Faith Torrez used a 9.975 of her own to take home the beam title.

Oklahoma and Missouri have met a total of eight times in their history and the Sooners own the series with a perfect 8-0 against the Tigers. The teams’ last met in 2021 and the Sooners earned a 198.175-196.550 victory.
