On Friday night, Bemidji State (5-25-1, 3-21-0 WCHA) and St. Thomas (8-20-2, 5-18-1 WCHA) begin a two game weekend series at Saint Thomas Ice Arena in Mendota Heights. It’s the second weekend set of the year between these two teams. They first played a pair of games in Bemidji in mid-November. The Beavers swept those games, winning 4-1 and 4-3. Junior forward Raeley Carney had two goals and an assist to lead the way in the first game, while all four goals in the second game were scored by four different players. Freshman goalie Kaitlin Groess made a combined 56 saves between the two games.

Both teams come into Friday’s game trying to bounce back after getting swept last weekend by ranked teams. Bemidji State was at home against No. 6 Ferris State and lost 6-0 and 2-0. St. Thomas played No. 2 Ohio State and lost one game 5-4 in overtime before losing the other game 5-1.
