Dartmouth comes off an upset victory on Saturday to open a home-and-home weekend series with Harvard on Friday in women’s college hockey.

Dartmouth (2-4-0) pulled off a big road upset on Saturday to improve to 2-2-0 in the ECAC Hockey standings and on Friday night the Big Green host the front end of a weekend home-and-home against Harvard (3-3-0) in women’s college hockey. The Crimson picked up their first conference victory on Saturday to get to 1-3-0 in ECAC Hockey. Harvard last skated in the NCAA tournament in 2022 and went to the Frozen Four most recently in 2015. Dartmouth hasn’t played in the NCAAs since 2011 and reached the last of three straight Frozen Fours since 2005.

The Big Green picked up four points on its road trip last weekend, losing 2-1 in overtime at St. Lawrence on Oct. 31 before stunning No. 9 Clarkson with a 3-0 victory on Saturday. Cally Dixon leads Dartmouth with three goals and six points, while Shae Messner has scored twice. Jiahui Zhan made her first two starts of the season last weekend and is 1-1-0 with a .974 save percentage and 0.88 goals-against average. Michaela Hesová started the first four games, going 1-3-0 with a .904 save percentage and 3.21 GAA.

Harvard also comes off a weekend split, losing at Clarkson 2-1 on Oct. 31 before picking up a 1-0 win at St. Lawrence on Saturday. Emily Hamann’s three goals lead the team, while Angelia Megdanis has two goals and four points, sharing the team lead with Ella Lucia, who has four points all on assists. The Crimson have used three goalies for two starts each, with Ainsley Tuffy going 1-1-0 with a .961 save percentage and 1.53 GAA. Izzy Whynot is 1-1-0 with a .924 save percentage to go with a 2.53 GAA and Emily Davidson is 1-1-0, posting a save percentage of .891 with a 2.51 GAA.

Dartmouth has won the last four games in the series, including a sweep on Jan. 3-4 last season that included a 3-2 overtime win on the road and a 1-1 tie with a shootout victory at home. The Crimson lead the all-time series 55-46-4.
