The Badgers bring a nine-game win streak into Saturday’s championship matchup after beating Minnesota Duluth 3-1 on Friday to earn their spot in the final. The win brings the team’s overall record to 34-1-2 and their conference record to 25-1-2. Against the Bulldogs, the Badgers fell behind early, but made up for it with three unanswered goals, one in each period. Kelly Gorbatenko scored the game-tying goal before Caroline Harvey put in the game-winning goal in the second. Emma Venusio added an insurance goal in the third period, putting the game out of reach for the Bulldogs. After allowing one goal early, Ava McNaughton stood strong in net, making 21 saves to anchor the defense and lead her team to victory.
