UConn looks to sweep the two-game series against New Hampshire when the Huskies hit the ice on Saturday evening

The UConn Huskies battle the New Hampshire Wildcats on Saturday night in the second game of a two-game series. The Huskies took control of the series on Friday night when they whipped the Wildcats 5-1. They got off to a bit of a slow start as they led just 1-0 at the end of the first period. They caught fire in the second period as they scored five times to take control of the game. They did give up a goal in the third period, but it wasn’t near enough and they came away with the win. The win helped the Huskies avoid a second straight loss and improved their record to 2-3 on the season. The Huskies opened the season with two straight losses to No. 2 Minnesota, but picked up their first win last weekend when they beat No. 12 Penn State. They couldn’t get the sweep of the Nittany Lions, though, as they lost the finale 4-2.

The Wildcats came into Friday 1-0-1 on the season after beating Assumption in their first game and tying them in the second game.

Their offense was clicking in their first game as they won 6-0, but the Wildcats have scored just two combined goals since.

Andi Calderone and Alyson Hush have been the team leaders so far as they are tied for the team-lead with two goals. The offense has been spread out, though, as seven different players have two points on the season.
