Robert Morris will take on Yale for the second time in as many days on Saturday afternoon in women’s ice hockey action.

The Robert Morris Colonials will host the Yale Bulldogs on Saturday afternoon at Clearview Arena. The Colonials have struggled this season and come into Saturday’s contest with an overall record of 6-13-2 so far, however, they are still winless in Atlantic Hockey play at 0-7-1 for a spot in last place. The Bulldogs are currently in sixth place in the ECAC standings with a conference record of 5-6-1 and the team is currently 8-6-2 overall. On Friday night, the Bulldogs and Colonials met in a non-conference matchup and the Bulldogs made quick and easy work of the Colonials with an 8-1 victory.

Vita Poniatovskaia and Mariya Rauf each scored twice in the first period to jump out to an early 4-0 lead. Cami Bell scored with five minutes remaining in the second period to make it a 5-0 game. Madison Primeau was finally able to put the Colonials on the board early in the third period, but that’s where Robert Morris’ scoring stopped. Ellie Reiter answered for Yale shortly thereafter to re-extend the lead to five goals. Stephanie Stainton received a pass from Rauf on a power play in the third and put it away to make it a 7-1 game before Anna Bargman scored the final goal of the game.

Maggie Hatch received the start in net for the Colonials, but after allowing four goals in twenty minutes of play, she was replaced with Lucy Phillips who, unfortunately, also allowed four goals. Yale produced an impressive 47 shots in the game. Tune in Saturday afternoon to see if the Colonials can keep the Bulldogs within reach in the teams’ second meeting of this non-conference series.
