This season the Tar Heels have been the unquestioned best team in women’s college lacrosse finishing the regular season undefeated and as ACC Tournament Champions. It has been two years since the Tar Heels made it past the quarterfinals of this tournament when they won the 2023 National Championship. This season’s team is on track to be the best in program history. The winner of this game will take on either four-seed Florida or unseeded Duke in the semifinals.

Heading into this match-up the Tigers have been the best offensive team in the tournament. They defeated Massachusetts 19-10 in the first round followed by an 18-12 win against eight-seed Johns Hopkins in the second round.
