Heading into this match-up the Tigers have been the best offensive team in the tournament. They defeated Massachusetts 19-10 in the first round followed by an 18-12 win against eight-seed Johns Hopkins in the second round.

Those 37 points are the most of any team in the tournament. This season the Tigers are 12-0 when scoring at least 15 points. When the offense is rolling the Tigers have proven to be one of the best teams in the country.

For the Tar Heels this season they have allowed double-digit points in just three games. All three turned out to be wins in the Tar Heels undefeated season. But, they were the most competitive games for the Tar Heels winning all three by a combined six points.
