SEC play will continue on Thursday night as Auburn hosts Alabama at the Auburn Soccer Complex in women’s college soccer.
Thursday could see some rainy and very windy continues for an SEC matchup between No. 14 Auburn and Alabama. As Hurricane Milton covers the state of Florida, the weather could play a major factor in Thursday night’s game, but with two strong squads, the game should still be a competitive one. The Crimson Tide bring an overall record of 7-3-4 and a conference record of 0-1-4 into Thursday’s matchup. The team’s last time on the pitch resulted in a tough 2-0 loss to Kentucky at home on Friday. The Wildcats outshot the Crimson Tide 8-6 in the first half, putting two of those shots in the back of the net, but Alabama played a much better second half, holding Kentucky to zero shots while producing seven of its own. Coralie Lallier and Ellie Lanyi shared responsibilities in net with both goals being scored against Lallier in the first half. With such strong defense in the second, Lanyi was unchallenged.
