The Bulldogs are currently tied for fifth place in the SEC with Tennessee and have a conference record of 2-2-2 and an overall record of 6-4-4. On Thursday night, Georgia hosted No. 4 Mississippi State, playing to a close 2-1 loss in front of 1500 fans. Margie Detrizio netted her eighth goal of the season less than two minutes in to give the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead over Mississippi State. The score remained 1-0 until the equalizer was scored shortly after halftime. With just five minutes remaining in the game Mississippi State scored the go-ahead goal and there just wasn’t enough time left for Georgia to find the equalizer. Jordan Brown came up with four big saves in net for the Bulldogs in the loss.

Florida and Georgia last played during the regular season last year and despite a hard fought battle on both sides, the game remained scoreless to bring the all-time record between the two teams to 30-5-4 in Florida’s favor.
