The team’s conference finale was played against Florida on Wednesday night and resulted in a 1-0 victory over the Florida Gators. The Wildcats may have finished just above the Vols in the conference standings, but Sunday’s game will be no walk in the park. The team finished with a 3-3-4 SEC record and 11-3-4 overall, but the results were a bit up and down throughout the season. Early on, the Wildcats beat then-No. 9 UCLA in a 2-0 win, but two of their three conference losses came against unranked opponents. The team finished off regular season play against none other than Tennessee and earned a big 4-0 victory at home. Makala Woods was the true hero for Kentucky, scoring her first career hat trick. Sophia Mattice scored the team’s other goal early on to allow the Wildcats to settle in and play their own game.

While Kentucky finished the regular season with a big 4-0 win over Tennessee, it only marked the second time in history the team beat the Vols. Sunday’s game could very well be a tossup between which team advances to the second round of SEC play.
