The Wildcats bring an overall record of 5-4-1 into Sunday’s contest with a conference record of 0-2 so far. On Thursday night, the team traveled to play No. 9 Penn State which resulted in a loss, but the Wildcats held the Nittany Lions to just one goal in a 1-0 defeat. The game was scoreless the entire first half, but Penn State came out fired up in the second half, scoring in the first five minutes. Reiley Fitzpatrick saw 14 shots in net and made three big saves to keep the game within reach. Northwestern was unable to find the equalizer in its two shots on frame and was forced to walk away without adding any points to its conference total.
