With only four games remaining in the regular season, Wyoming and UNLV will look to move up in the standings to secure a spot in the postseason.

On Sunday afternoon, Wyoming will take a trip to Las Vegas to play UNLV in a Mountain West matchup. The Cowgirls are currently in eighth place in the conference standings with a record of 2-2-3 in Mountain West play and 4-5-6 overall. On Thursday, the team played Nevada in Reno and finished the game gridlocked in a scoreless draw. Despite outshooting the Wolf Pack 14-10 with four shots on frame, the Cowgirls could not put one in the back of the net to earn three points and move up in the standings. Raegan Richardson led Wyoming with four shots in the match and Alyssa Bedard was right behind her with three. Haley Bartel earned her seventh shutout of the season with three saves in the draw.

The team’s most recent game resulted in a tough 2-1 loss to conference-leading Colorado State on Thursday night. The Rams opened the scoring in the 23rd minute of play and took a 1-0 lead all the way to the 61st minute when Cadence Whitley netted her second goal of the season to even the score. With 20 minutes to play, Colorado State struck again, this time with what ended up being the game winner. The Rams outshot the Rebels 18-8, keeping Hanne Breur busy in net. She made five saves in the loss.

UNLV and Wyoming met once last season and the game went in the Rebels’ favor with a 2-1 win.
