NC State and Boston College go after weekend sweeps when they face off at Reynolds Coliseum on Sunday

NC State (12-7) is hanging in the top half of the Atlantic Coast Conference standings, tied with Virginia for seventh place at 7-4 in league play. On Sunday, the Wolfpack — winners of two straight matches — host Boston College (10-13), which comes off a win on Friday night and stands at 3-8 in the ACC, 12th in the 17-team conference. NC State is chasing its fourth NCAA tournament appearance and its first since 2017 while the Eagles have never received an invitation to the tourney.

The Wolfpack swept visiting Syracuse 25-14, 25-13 and 25-20 on Friday night, getting 16 kills from Amanda Rice in the blowout win while attacking at a .280 clip. Sydney Daniels hammered home six aces, Sophie Groom made four blocks and Skye Stokes made 14 digs.

Boston College also picked up a Friday night sweep, winning at Wake Forest 25-15, 25-15 and 25-21. Halle Schroder notched eight kills, eight digs and two aces, while Morgan Riddle and Aubrey Moore also put down two aces. Julia Haggerty chipped in with four blocks.

Rice paces NC State with 226 kills while Stokes leads the team with 29 aces. Defensively, Groom’s 10 blocks are a team-best and Stokes has 250 digs in the scorebook. Schroder is the offensive leader for the Eagles with 285 kills and 28 aces, Haggerty leads the defense with 36 blocks and Brooklyn Yelland owns 240 digs while Schroder has added 210.

The Wolfpack are 15-13 against Boston College since 2005 and the teams split road wins last season.
