Florida hosts Buffalo Sunday afternoon to conclude non-conference play and finish its duty as hosts for the Sunshine Invitational.

Florida goes for its fourth win in a row when it hosts Buffalo on Sunday afternoon. After getting swept by No. 15 Georgia Tech, the Gators have responded nicely earning two sweeps of their own and a hard fought battle against No. 18 Florida State where they won 3-2. That later match was last Tuesday and Florida was trailing 2-1 after dropping the second and third sets. After a strong start, it looked like the Gators were going to lose three consecutive sets. But freshman Taylor Parks stood up big in rallying Florida by putting up a career-high 56 assists to contribute to the Gators’ .346 hitting percentage. Parks also recorded 10 digs for her second double-double. Florida’s last match was on Friday to open the Sunshine Invitational where they swept North Texas 25-22, 25-13, 25-18. Kennedy Martin came up big for the Gators in their last match and was in the top three of kills, aces and blocks leading the match with 14 kills. Buffalo will present a bit more difficult challenge than North Texas but the Gators will still be heavy favorites to defend home court in this tournament.

Buffalo is 4-8 on the season and are coming off a sweep against North Texas in the Sunshine Invitational. The Bulls won three matches to start off the season but they have gone 1-8 in their last nine matchups. Buffalo ended a seven-game losing streak on Wednesday beating Niagara but didn’t have any answers for North Texas in the first game of this invitational. This invitational all the sudden doesn’t seem so sunny after all for the Bulls.
