The Cardinals bring a four game win streak into Sunday’s top 10 meeting with an overall record of 6-1. The team has already played three ranked teams this season, opening the year with wins over No. 3 Wisconsin (3-1) and No. 15 Tennessee (3-0) before dropping to No. 7 Penn State (3-0). Since that loss, the Cards have been dominant, only dropping one set across four matches. On Saturday, Louisville took on Northern Iowa and made quick work of it with a 3-0 victory (25-23, 27-25, 25-15). Charitie Luper led the attack with a team-high 16 kills while Elena Scott handled the defensive efforts, finishing the game with 23 digs.
Sunday’s match will be the third meeting between the two programs with Louisville having won both of the previous meetings in five set battles with the most recent being last season in the NCAA tournament. Tune in Sunday to see which team is able to hold on to their win streak.
