The Seminoles have won back-to-back matches heading into this huge showdown with a top-five team in women’s college volleyball. This is the first match between the teams as conference rivals since the Cardinal joined the ACC. So far in year one as an official member of the ACC the Cardinal are 8-2 in conference play. With both teams ranked in the Top 25 this match is one of the biggest in women’s college volleyball.

The Seminoles are rolling ahead of this match with two straight wins. Both wins came in straight sets against Duke and California. In the win over the Blue Devils, the Seminoles played one of their strongest matches of the season winning all three sets by at least 11 points taking them apart on the road.

They will look to keep rolling at home against a very talented Cardinal team. So far this season the Seminoles are 3-3 in six matches against ranked opponents. In their only other match against a team ranked this high the Seminoles lost a tough five-set match to fourth-ranked Louisville. 

For the Cardinal this season they are 6-3 in nine matches against ranked opponents. Their last match came against top ranked Pittsburgh where the Cardinal lost in straight sets against the best team in the country. This match gives them the opportunity to bounce back from Friday’s loss and get back on track against another ranked opponent.
