Harvard hosts Merrimack for their second game of the season on Saturday afternoon as part of the Harvard Invitational.
Harvard looks to continue to defend home court on Saturday afternoon when they host Merrimack. This match is part of the Harvard Invitational where the home school hosted its first game of the season on Friday. The Crimson dominated Stonehill College winning the matchup in a 3-0 sweep. The first matchup was the closest with Harvard winning the set 25-22 but the Crimson went on to win 25-14 and then 25-17 to sweep the sets. The game dropped the Skyhawks to 1-4 on the season. Corinne Furey had a big night to lead the Crimson with 16 kills and a .333 hitting percentage. Even though the school has a quick turnaround, Harvard should be the heavy favorite this afternoon against Merrimack.

The Warriors were swept on Friday dropping to the University of New Hampshire in three sets. Merrimack is 0-4 on the season and has only won one set so far. It doesn’t help the Warriors’ cause that they are on the road. The Warriors nearly tied it up in the second half against the Wildcats but New Hampshire had a late rally to go up two sets. This is the first game of a doubleheader for Merrimack. The Warriors will play Stonehill College in a likely more even matchup.
