How to Watch Nebraska at SMU: Live Stream Women’s College Volleyball, TV Channel

SMU will host No. 2 Nebraska on Tuesday night for the 2024 home opener in women’s college volleyball.

After a trip to Hawaii over the weekend for the Hawaiian Airlines Wahine Volleyball Classic in which the team walked away with a 1-1 record, the Mustangs of Southern Methodist will return home to host No. 2 Nebraska at Moody Coliseum for their home opener. Last season, SMU finished with an overall record of 26-7 and a conference record of 18-1 to finish atop the American Athletic Conference standings, winning the regular season title. In the NCAA tournament, the Mustangs beat Texas State in the first round in straight sets, but were eliminated by the 2023 National Champion Longhorns in the second round.

This year, the team will have its work cut out as SMU officially made the move to the Atlantic Coast Conference, joining Stanford and Cal in an 18-team conference. Of the 18 teams, seven appeared in the NCAA tournament in 2023 including Pitt who made a semifinal appearance. Voted to finish sixth, SMU will look to prove naysayers wrong with a talented team and finish in the top five.

The 2024 Cornhuskers have gotten off to a strong start this season and are currently 3-0 with one top 20 win against No. 9 Kentucky in their season opener in four sets. The team went on to play Texas A&M – Corpus Christi and TCU at the Ameritus Players Challenge over the weekend, beating them 3-0 and 3-1, respectively.

Last year, Nebraska had a phenomenal year, but came up just short to Texas in the national championship. As expected, the Huskers were chosen to finish atop the Big Ten in the preseason coaches’ poll. The team’s next big test won’t come until September 18th when it hosts current No. 5 Stanford before playing Louisville, UCLA and USC who are all ranked in the top 20 as well.

Tune in Tuesday night to see these two strong teams battle it out in non-conference battle as they continue to lay a foundation for conference play.
