The Tar Heels are also coming off of a loss after dropping a match against NC State on Friday night in four sets. North Carolina picked up the first set in a 25-23 win, but the Wolf Pack came back to win the next three (25-18, 25-22, 25-22) to hand the Tar Heels their first conference loss. The team is now 4-1 in ACC play and 12-2 overall for a spot in a four-way tie for second place. NC State held North Carolina to a hitting percentage of .187 which was led by Chelsea Thorpe’s efforts at the net as she finished with 10 kills. Maddy May held the top spot defensively with 14 digs, but Safi Hampton and Mabrey Shaffmaster also finished with double digit kills with 13 and 10, respectively. The team will now look to bounce back and earn a road win to get back on track and try to make it back to the top of the standings.

UNC leads the all-time series with Wake Forest 55-20. Last year, the teams split a pair of games with each going to five sets.
